“Find Excitement in Solving Problems All Day, Every Day”

This quote from Brandon Durbin, Founder & CEO at Akava, perfectly captures what I love so much about entrepreneurship.

In “Five Years Strong: Unveiling 5 Key Entrepreneurship Insights from Akava’s Journey,” Brandon gets real about what it takes to build a successful company.

One of the many things I loved so much about Brandon’s post was his perspective on problem solving. I want to share three of my favorite quotes with you, as well as some takeaways to consider while working to overcome your own business challenges.

Quote 1: “If you find excitement in solving problems all day, every day, then entrepreneurship is for you.”

For me, this is what building a business is all about. Embracing the adventure. Living life full-out. Committing to a creative vision.

Quote 2: “Personally, I think the incredible highs and gut-wrenching lows are all worth it.”

I agree. You might not. But this is where the rubber meets the road. There’s nothing wrong with admitting if you’re not enjoying the process of building a business. It’s got to feel worth it to you, even when it’s a struggle.

Quote 3: “Clients, employees, partners, and vendors all present a unique set of problems that need to be addressed, and oftentimes concurrently. In the consulting world, we are problem solvers by nature. Inherently our clients partner with us so we can help deliver some high-value product, solution or outcome.”

In the end, it’s not about how much money you make or how many products you sell. It’s about how many people’s lives you’re able to positively impact.

In the meantime, what will you do today to start enjoying the entire adventure—both the highs and the lows?

Will you consider that problem solving and entrepreneurship go hand-in-hand, and recognize that you’re not alone in the struggle?
